INSTRUCTIONS
*NOTE: These instructions are for after you’ve filled out the form on the ‘Site Setup’ page. Once you’ve filled out this form, you can view your newly created page in the top menu of the site. These instructions are most clear on a desktop computer or laptop & you must be logged in. If you’re not logged in, click here. Make note of the URL for future reference (easiest route is adding /login to the end of the URL).
If you’d prefer to follow along to a video, see below.
Basic Terminology: You are currently on the “Front-End” of the website, in other words on the side that a visitor would be able to see. If you click on “DDSMatch” (top left side of toolbar) it will take you to the “Back-End” of the site.
1) UPDATE THE SITE’S MAIN ADMINISTRATOR EMAIL ADDRESS:
You can do this by flipping to the back-end of the site (by clicking on DDSmatch in the toolbar at the top of the screen) and then from there, go to Settings > General & replace the “Administrative Email Address” with your own. You will have to confirm this change in your email, but once that’s done, form submissions & newsletter signups will go to your inbox.
2) CHANGE YOUR MENU:
Hover over the site’s title in the top left side of the toolbar & click ‘Menus’ (you can also access this from the back-end of the site under Appearance > Menus). Add your newly created page (in the area titled “Pages,” tick the checkbox next to your page & then click “Add to Menu.” You can also add any custom links you’d like in the dropdown below titled “Custom Links.” Whenever you’re ready, make sure “Primary Menu” is selected as the Display Location (below the menu, in “Menu Settings”) and click the blue Save Menu button. Doing this will hide Site Setup, Template, Privacy Policy & Template from the top menu.
3) CHANGE THE HOME PAGE:
Navigate to the back-end of your website and find Settings > Reading. From here, you can select the page you just created as the home page, which will be what users show up to the site.
4) UPDATE YOUR NEW PAGE:
Navigate to the page you created with your form submission. Once you’re there, click on ‘Edit Page’ in the toolbar, then on the next page click ‘Update.’ This will ensure that your images and responses were successfully migrated. You will also be able to change the title of your page & any of your responses from the form on this screen.
5) TURN DIVI DISPLAY LOGIC ‘Admin Mode’ OFF:
To get rid of any admin-only code that is visible by default, and to see the site the way your visitors will see it, hover over the ‘Divi Display Logic’ item in the top toolbar and clicking the first option. This will hide the grey bars that indicate conditionally visible content.
*The additional customizations you can make to your site are endless! Once you’ve become familiar with WordPress and your Divi Builder, you’ll be able to create beautiful sections, pages, posts and more!
